Harris Fitness is owned and run by Neil and Claire Harris who have a combined experience of nearly 30 years providing Personal Training, Massage and Physiotherapy services. All of our therapists have a background in sports or for the NHS and have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience. We have a large number of satisfied clients who we have helped with a wide range of mobility and fitness issues.
Neil Harris
Our Personal Training is led by Neil who has over 10 years experience in this field. In this time he has achieved a huge amount of qualifications, he is registered with REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals) and is a Boxercise Trainer, Exercise GP Referral Fitness Consultant, Mountain Leader, Cave Leader, Sea Kayaking coach, Cancer Rehabilitation Fitness Consultant and Sports Massage Practitioner.
Neil’s diverse range of skills allow him to adapt to each individual clients needs and specific goals. Neil is enthusiastic, motivated, punctual, reliable, consistent, good humoured and resourceful. He is qualified to work with a variety of medical conditions, with a special interest in Cancer Rehabilitation.
Achieving results is a key driver for Neil, he is passionate about helping people improve their fitness and offering programmes that meet your goals. North Devon provides many locations for training in the outdoors which has proven results in helping people to remain motivated. Neil is qualified to give advice on nutrition, whether this be for weight loss, muscle building, sports specific training and eating disorders.
Claire Harris
Claire is our lead physiotherapist, she holds a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy, is a MCSP (Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy), a member of the ATACP (Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and is registered with the Health Professional Council (HPC). On graduating she was employed by Stoke Mandeville Hospital and worked as a Physiotherapist in the National Spinal Injuries Unit.
In 2005 Claire moved to North Devon and became a Senior Physiotherapist for Northern Devon Healthcare Trust. Claire now has 14 years’ experience in neurological physiotherapy and is highly experienced in working with individuals with a variety of conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury.
Claire is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals recovering from illness or injury and she remains closely linked with Northern Devon Healthcare Trust and is well recognised as a Specialist Physiotherapist in Rehabilitation.
